Spring Trend - D'Orsay Skimmers

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE

Before this year, I was morally opposed to pointed-toe flats (and white pumps, but more on that another day). I thought they made feet look comically long and flat, were outdated and kinda sorta try-hardy. Needless to say, I have pretty harsh style rules for myself that may come across as judgmental, but I'd rather say I have a discerning eye for fashion. I've always been a bit cutthroat when it comes to selecting clothes--I have vivid memories of hours-long shopping trips with my exhausted mom and coming home empty handed ("That heel isn't the perfect height," "Spaghetti straps are so last season," "That waistline is all wrong.").

Cut to today, when my opinions have laxed a bit and my closet has diversified to include items that I would have never thought would enter its pearly gates. When I saw these Jenni Kayne D'Orsay skimmers on Cupcakes and Cashmere last week, I thought, "Oh, no. Another one bites the dust." But, upon further investigation, I've discovered that these are the perfect shoes to wear as the seasons change. They're practical, comfortable and just a little bit different than the myriad flats that are on the market. I might have changed my mind about this one trend, but have to ease myself into the commitment. What do you think of D'Orsay skimmers? Which one of these styles would you rock this season?
