Saturday Style Envy: Street Chic

This week's edition should be called "Saturday Coat Envy," because I can't help but covet this glorious cover-up! The outfit is a prime example of uptown/downtown chic with its monochromatic oatmeal aesthetic: minimal wool coat, slouchy cable knit beanie, zipper-embellished skinny jeans, and too-hot-to-trot lace-up booties. Let's not forget the gloves! Wish I could see a shot of her purse. The outfit screams "I'm heading to a trunk show in my glamorous, cosmopolitan city. Join me later for a latte at {insert cleverly-named coffee house here. I like 'Brew-Ha-Ha'}." Must find hooded wool coat!

L'Exotique Beauté

I'm not sure if animal rights agencies should be notified of these images, but in any case, this shoot is possibly the most provocative spread I have ever seen in my life. It's sensual, vibrant, freaky, disconcerting, raw, and for lack of a better word, animalistic. There is, however, a sense of softness and affection that comes through the photos. When I first saw this editorial, I was totally taken aback by its in-your-face vulgarity and couldn't figure out if I was intrigued by the girl-on-pachyderm action or a little disturbed. I've made up my mind. I am completely infatuated.

Photographers Sean&Seng traveled to Thailand to capture these exotic beauties in their natural habitat for POP magazine and model Samantha Gradoville totally turned it on for the camera.

Acid//Trip

Just another manic Monday! I hope you ladies enjoyed your weekend and are having a swell day off from work. I went birthdayin' and brunchin' this weekend and it was fabulous! Mother Nature really came through for a fun-filled Sunday. Here's a little sunshine and a whole lotta flashback for your morning a la Glamour Netherlands. What do you think? Do you dig the acid washed denim or are your day-glo days over? I'm jonesin' for a time warp!

Saturday Style Envy: Kim Kardashian

Now that the rains have fallen, it's time to break out the layers! Wintertime dress has always made me nervous, because I feel so restricted under piles and piles of clothing. LA living (especially in fall and winter months) requires plenty of costume changes, as your environment can switch from hot to cold at a moment's notice. Enter Kim Kardashian (via über talented stylist Monica Rose) in her chic and stylish layered look that doesn't induce fabric frustration. Everything looks slouchy and, most importantly, comfortable! Not to mention Kim is rocking the fab high bun hairstyle that I have been unable to reproduce no matter how hard I try. The harem style pants with a blousy top and boyfriend blazer go perfectly with the scraggly scarf that is styled in a devil-may-care loop...spot on! It's a look that doesn't scream "I spent three hours figuring out what to wear." I totally have to steal this look!

Boho Bridal

...and I'm back! It has been crazy here at chez Gigi, what with the new job, new job, and new job. Don't fret, my pets, because I have been keeping up with and keeping tabs on all of your activity in blog land!

It's every indie, DIY chick's dream. An indie, DIY wedding complete with vintage lace accents, origami textures, and tea-dyed gowns that will make any bohemian bride swoon. Indie chicks, rejoice. BHLDN is the older sister of Urban Outfitters, incorporating the the antique aesthetic only found in a hipster's dreams into upscale bridal attire. The collection includes gowns, bridesmaid dresses, shoes, jewelry, boleros/cover ups, and ooh la lingerie. It might not be every lady's cup of tea, but it sure as hell makes you want one. In an English rose garden, no less.
