Looking Over the Mountaintop

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity. - MLK, Jr.

I hope everyone who has a day off from work is enjoying their mini vaca! I also hope that everyone, no matter what your work schedule is like, takes a few minutes to think about the changes that Martin Luther King, Jr. allowed for/introduced in the United States and worldwide. He was a voice among the voiceless and died for what he believed in. That is the type of role model that we need today, not only in politics, but also in everyday life - someone who is not afraid to go against the majority and stand for something; to let people know that spiritual emptiness comes from superficial greed; to show that you can make a difference that will make waves across the globe. When fashions fade and you are disrobed of all airs and possessions, all that is exposed is your beliefs. Make them mean something.

  1. A well-written and timely post. We don't reflect enough on the relevance of his legacy. Again, excellent post.

Merci beaucoup!
