Shine by S.H.O.

Happy Friday! If I could decorate my space (and afford) using pieces from only one collection, it would have to be Shine by S.H.O. They are being sold on Gilt and I'm captivated by the mid-century mixed with Moroccan glam that this line exudes. Where in the world would you find an accent table that can be mistaken for a piece of jewelry? Or a pendant light that is so rich in detail? I love EVERY SINGLE piece!

Happy Humpday!

Hellooooo, blogging beauties! I have been MIA for a bit due to my hectic daytime schedule. I have, however, been creeping on all of your posts and loving them! I figured I'd make some magic today to help you get over hump day.

I consider myself a fashionable individual and love dressing up for a fun night out (whether I enjoy the dressing up part or the actually going out part is up for discussion). I have been using the same yellow crocodile clutch to accessorize my nighttime outfits for YEARS and, if the yellow doesn't work with the outfit, I adopt a piece from my sister's vast handbag collection for the night (thanks, Lori!). I figured it's time to outfit my closet with a neutral colored clutch that will complement the various ensembles I put together for a night out. I found a few cute clutches that I thought would work perfectly with my wardrobe's color palette. I love them each, but image #3 to die for!

1. ASOS Chiffon & Satin Ruffle Clutch, $45
2. ASOS Faux Croc Clutch, $31
3. ASOS Feather Clutch Bag, $45
4. Dune Laurent Chain Edge Suede Clutch Bag, $95
5. ASOS Leather Clutch Bag with Waterfall Flap, $62

{Positively Pink} October Breast Cancer Month

Inspired by many blogger friends' recent posts, I've decided to "pink out" my blog in honor of October Breast Cancer Month! Please take some time this month to think of those who have suffered, are currently suffering or are standing by a loved one suffering from breast cancer (and other cancers, too!). Donate to a breast cancer foundation, educate yourself on breast cancer risks and prevention or send love to those who need it the most. Above all, remember that life is short (and sometimes tough), so look at life through *pink*-colored glasses. Allow me to help!

Happy Friday!

{Designer Amanda Nisbet's work @ CasaSugar}

This week was a drag, but I gave myself positive affirmation throughout to keep me in bubbly spirits. There is no shame in telling yourself you're fabulous, so do it often! Enjoy your weekend! What will you ladies be doing?

Happy 35th Anniversary, Mom + Dad!

Today is my parents' 35th wedding anniversary. As with any couple, my parents share a roller coaster of a relationship that started when they were both teachers in Lebanon. Being a self-taught (amazing) musician, my dad would serenade my mom on his guitar ("You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor is "their song"). My mom was hooked and proposed to my dad soon after. The gorgeous goody-two-shoes and the rough-around-the-edges genius nutty professor/rockstar.

I always wondered why their printed wedding invitation had the date crossed out, had it rescheduled by pen, crossed out, then rescheduled again. The fall of 1975 (September, to be exact) was the start of the Lebanese Civil War and Beirut was all but infested with snipers and militiamen. Minor details. Those tumultuous times were no match to the tests they would face throughout their relationship.

They always stood by each others' side even when outsiders judged them. They remained the best parents,  supporters and friends to their two daughters even though they didn't quite agree with every choice they made. When my dad had a debilitating stroke three years ago, my mom never left his side and slept on a pull-out chair in the hospital for seven months while he got better, then worse, then better. My dad never stopped appreciating her generosity, kindness and persistence, in sickness and in health. Who knew that the song that captured my mom's heart would resonate after 35 years of marriage? "When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand, and nothing is going right, close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there to brighten up even your darkest nights. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again." I love you Mom + Dad! Happy Anniversary!

Jonathan Adler's Happy Chic for HSN

I've always been a fan of one Mr. J. Adler and his quirky mid-century glam aesthetic. Mostly, I relate to his love of Greek key, which, I must admit, attracts me with its geometric "G" pattern. From 6-8 p.m. PST, Jonathan Adler will be on HSN hocking his latest line for the network called "Happy Chic." Check out my picks below!

Happy Chic Greek Key Woven Throw, $50

Happy Chic Ceramic Table Lamp, $150

Happy Chic Menagerie Whale Candle, $35

Happy Chic Set of 2 Greek Key Pillows, $100
